Robert is the owner and lead designer at Felice Design Studio. He hails from the quiet suburbs of Westchester, NY and often traveled to New York City to explore its many rich cultural offerings. A part-time job at a local floral and event design company proved to be the perfect outlet for his artistic expression.
Robert received his Architecture degree from Cornell University. His education encompassed a broad range of subjects, including: interior design, theatrical design, botany and botanical illustration. This multi-faceted education provided the foundation for a keen eye and a unique approach to design.
Robert began his career with a mid-size architecture firm and quickly became the project designer for many public projects; most notably an interior renovation of an historic Carnegie Library on the Upper West Side and the interiors for a live/learn college at Fordham University. He then worked in the store design department at the legendary Bergdorf Goodman and most recently served as project manager at Dolce&Gabbana Store Planning where he completed the San Francisco and Hawaii boutiques as well as the renovation of numerous wholesale shops and outlets around the country.
Throughout, Robert designed and executed many freelance interior, floral and event design projects. He looks forward to many more exciting opportunities with Felice Design Studio.
Robert's great grandfather, and inspiration for Felice Design Studio, Felice LaSaracina was born in Bari, Italy and emigrated to the United States in 1920. He was an artist with many passions including painting and marble sculpting. He also installed the marble facades of many iconic New York landmarks.
Felice resided with his family in the Bronx, NY where he became a local celebrity for the artfully manicured topiaries that adorned his property.
We are fortunate that many of his beautiful works have survived and remain in the family to this day, including an original photograph he took of his marble sculptures featured below.
The word felice also translates to happy in Italian.
